This is our famous jungle survival class taught by instructors from Randall's Adventure & Training as well as Peruvian Special Forces personnel. During the 7 days, participants will learn jungle survival in an organized format, deep in the middle of the Amazon jungle. All instruction will be taught in Spanish and English. 

Day 1: Travel from Iquitos to Nauta by road. Board boat and travel up the Amazon River to a base camp location on an Amazon tributary. Overnight and dinner prepared at camp.

Day 2: Instruction Day: Shelter Construction, Water Procurement, Machete Use, Fire Building.  Food provided this day.

Day 3: Instruction Day: Jungle Navigation, Jungle Travel, Traps & Snares. Food provided this day.

Day 4: Leave base camp, head into primary jungle. Overnight in primary jungle and continue to learn skills. No food taken. Participants eat what they find in the jungle or what they catch by fishing.

Day 5: Continue into jungle and overnight, practicing navigation skills, water procurement and jungle travel skills. Continue to search for food.

Day 6: Return to river edge. Practice jungle signaling techniques. Build rafts. Float down river and meet base boat. Return to Nauta and RAT jungle property. Dinner at RAT jungle property.

Day 7: Return to Iquitos.

Equipment List:

Passport, Patrol Pack, Machete and/or fixed blade knife, Compass & Pace Count Beads, Water bottle or hydration pack, Water purification tablets, Mosquito net, Poncho, Fire building tools (lighter and/or Ferrocerium rod), Fishing kit (small amount of line, lead sinkers and hooks), Personal first aid kit (to include toiletries), Jungle boots, Quick-dry clothing (BDUs), Flashlight, Watch, Hat, Notepad and pencil/pen, Camera w/ extra batteries. f you have special gear requirements due to medical or other reasons, please contact us.

Warning & Disclaimer: While we (RAT) do not consider this trip dangerous, we will be miles from civilization without any means of quick evacuation. You will be in the middle of the largest and most diverse jungle on Earth. Should an accident or injury occur, we will make every effort to evacuate you to civilization and primary care but we make no safety guarantees due to the remote nature of these trips. Each person participates at their own risk! Although uncommon, due to the nature of travel in remote locations the schedule of events are subject to change. With that said, we always provide the participant with a unique, once-in-a-lifetime jungle experience since we put you up-close and personal with the jungle instead of viewing it through a tour operator's eyes.. 

Each participant will receive a specially engraved sheath knife from RAT Cutlery Co. and an autographed copy of the book Adventure Travel in the Third World. Completion certificates for both the tracking and jungle survival instruction will be mailed out after our return from South America.

Price:

$ 1400.00 Paid in full at least 60 days before scheduled departure (10 percent discount to certified law enforcement or military). No refunds unless the trip is canceled by RAT. Participants are responsible for all airfare from their point of departure to Iquitos, Peru. Participants can arrange their airfare directly to Iquitos via www.expedia.com, but please send us your itinerary so we can arrange to have someone pick you up at the airport in Iquitos and transfer you to your hotel. RAT pays for all expenses (including an overnight stay in Iquitos before jungle departure) once the team departs for the jungle and until we return to Iquitos, Peru.

All participants must sign a release and complete a general information form (see below). Malaria meds and Yellow Fever vaccination are recommended. Trip insurance from www.travelinsured.com is also suggested. We suggest this insurance plan.
