Reasonable
physical fitness required! Class size limited to 10 new students.
Required
Gear: Small Pack, Machete and/or fixed blade knife, Baseplate Compass
& Pace Count Beads (Silva Ranger preferred), Water bottle, Water
purification tablets and/or small filter, Poncho, Quick-dry clothing (BDUs),
Flashlight, Watch, Hat, Notepad and pencil/pen, Camera w/ extra batteries. If
you have special gear requirements due to medical or other reasons, please
contact us.

22 – Day 4:

Hours: Field Tracking Exercise
Overnight
FTX.
Students will be required to perform
the following tasks:
1)
Navigate
to a location on their maps
2)
Build
emergency shelter and fire (survival camp)
3)
Demonstrate
proper signaling techniques
No
tents, sleeping bags or extra gear will be allowed. Students will be required to
be wet before sundown. No food or snacks to be carried into the field for this
FTX. Students will be allowed one water bottle with purification tablets, a knife (or machete) and an
emergency pocket survival
kit (kit will be supplied by RAT) - NO OTHER GEAR. Team first aid
kit and rope gear will be carried in by the instructors.

Objective Test (FTX)
